From the President
Everyone likes to be on the winning team! And I am pleased to announce that we have a winner! In 2017 Historic Eleutherian College will unveil the results of a two-year restoration project. And it’s not too late to join the team.
For the past two years the first floor and balcony have been a construction zone. Now this major restoration project, under the capable leadership of Nick Ellis, our construction manager, is almost complete. Donors and friends of the college will be invited to the big “reveal.” Our annual fall festival, September 16th, will include special speakers, tours and music to “show off” the restored interior.
During this construction phase, you have not heard much from us, but the board has been busy, too! We have added several new members, elected new officers and begun planning for the next decade. In 2016, we lost Jae Breitweiser, who with her dear friend, Dottie Reindollar, had saved the College from destruction in the 1990s and put it on the National map. The vision and dreams they had for the College continue to be realized. The research they started continues and the partnerships they forged are being strengthened and expanded.
This is an exciting time to be part of Historic Eleutherian College. Join the team! When you become a friend of the college you contribute directly to its success.
Thank you!
Jan Vetrhus
President
