HEC board, supporters keep our mission on target
Today the college building is a National Historic Landmark and maintained by a volunteer board of directors. Our vision is “To raise awareness that education and freedom are the foundations of a flourishing civil society.”
The year 2020 has shown that now, as much as in the 1850s, America is in need of a flourishing civil society. In response, the board is beginning an exciting ten-year plan to return to an institution of higher learning. We will be developing partnerships and expanding outreach to recruit students from underserved communities, educating them to be qualified teachers of math and science.
We appreciate your continued support of the Historic Eleutherian College. Your checks or on-line donations, via PayPal, make it possible to pay the bills, apply for additional grants and plan for the future.
Gifts to the HEC Endowment at the Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County build our long-term capability.
